Kim Caldow is executive general manager – people and culture at Ventura Bus Lines, one of Australia’s largest bus operators. Passionate about creating workplaces where people can thrive, she leads Ventura’s people and culture strategy with a strong focus on employee engagement, leadership development and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
As a passionate advocate for women in transport, Caldow has enhanced and diversified Ventura’s actions towards creating a truly diverse and inclusive culture. The Women at the Wheel program is instrumental in enabling more women to explore careers in the transport industry. Since its launch, more than 350 women have participated in the program and its fully funded MR licencing and training program, aim at empowering women in the gaining confidence, skills and insight into opportunities within a traditionally male-dominated sector.
Caldow’s commitment to increasing female representation extends beyond driving roles, with women comprising 50% of Ventura’s 2026 workshop apprenticeship intake and achieving gender parity in the executive management team.
She has also been instrumental in introducing Ventura’s Women’s Contact Officer Program, creating additional support networks for employees and helping to strengthen a culture of respect, safety and inclusion. Through strategic partnerships, allyship initiatives and practical workplace programs, she continues to champion gender equity both within Ventura and across the broader transport industry.
Known for her authentic and people-centred leadership style, Caldow is dedicated to meaningful change and empowering individuals. By turning employee feedback into action, she has shaped a workplace where people feel valued, supported, and equipped to succeed. Through her leadership, she continues to open doors for the next generation of transport professionals while building a more inclusive and connected future for the industry.
