Chris Michalak is responsible for leading the company’s global growth strategy and helping clients unlock the full value of their healthcare investments to drive better health outcomes. Before joining Virgin Pulse in 2021, Michalak served as CEO of Alight Solutions, a $2.3B leader in benefits, payroll and cloud solutions. He brings more than two decades of healthcare, technology and HR industry leadership experience to his role at Virgin Pulse. A firm believer in the correlation between health, wellbeing and successful outcomes, Michalak also serves on the board of directors of GENYOUth, a leading national youth health and wellness non-profit dedicated to creating healthier school communities.

He has more than 10 years of experience working with web-centric and tech-focused start-ups for Virgin.

Chief Financial Officer
Scott J. Charles has 25+ years of experience and a record of accomplishment across a spectrum of financial operations in public and private environments. He currently serves as CFO.
Prior to HealthComp, Charles served as CFO for Cytel, the largest provider of statistical and software advanced analytics for clinical trial design and execution. He played a lead role in the growth of Cytel globally and successful sale. Before joining Cytel, he served as CFO of Aralez Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded, specialty pharmaceutical company. Prior to Aralez, he served as the Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Ikaria, a critical care pharmaceutical company. Charles also played a lead role in the spin-off of Ikaria’s R&D operations and IPO and the successful sale of its commercial business.
Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at Reliant Pharmaceuticals. Previously, at Arthur Andersen, he was a manager in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services practice.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Bucknell University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Erica Morgenstern is accountable for overall marketing initiatives and operations, including demand generation, field marketing, corporate communications, brand and product marketing. Previously, she served as chief communication officer at Welltok and led communications and investor relations for Epocrates, a medical app company used by half of the physicians in the US. She specializes in guiding companies through the critical start-up to high-growth phase with funding, mergers and acquisitions, and IPO activity. Morgenstern has an invigorating energy and proven track record of executing effective and creative communications to increase awareness and stimulate action.

Prior to Welltok and Virgin Pulse, Yoshimura’s career and experience spanned across the technology space, including corporate IT and process, IT security, sales engineering, and product management. He holds degrees in Finance and Information Systems from the University of Illinois.
