Hyundai Auto Canada (HAC) is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company of Korea. HAC markets a full line-up of vehicles – from subcompact to premium sedans to sports utility and crossovers – in Canada. The company is committed to providing world-class, well-engineered products paired with a customer shopping and ownership experience that surpasses expectations.
At HAC, employee engagement is a top business objective. Hyundai offers a comprehensive and inclusive benefit program that includes health, life, group RRSP, and disability plans. The company also offers a program that allows employees to lease vehicles at an attractive rate, which includes insurance and maintenance. Over the past year, HAC launched several new and enhanced benefits in various areas. Its biggest additions are DEI initiatives to support a more inclusive benefit program. The company now offers benefit options that support non-traditional family units and LGBTQ2+ members, including gender affirmation, fertility treatment, and surrogacy benefits. It also introduced parental leave top-up (for both the birthing and non-birthing parents), compassionate care leave top-up, and family caregiver leave top-up. Other enhancements include increased amounts for its health spending account, personal spending account, and orthodontics coverage.
Understanding that bereavement practices vary by culture, including Indigenous populations, HAC has increased the number of paid days off for bereavement leave to be inclusive of all cultural and healing traditions. To further support employees’ physical and mental wellbeing, 10 paid wellness days are now available annually and mental health coverage has increased to $1,500 per year.
