Driven to make a bigger impact with her skills, Amy Farrell shifted her dedication into the non-profit sector in 2016 and has been focused on issues of equity and human rights in the workplace, while keeping the “human” in human resources.
Self-dubbed as the “how” department, she strives to prove how HR is truly a strategic partner at the boardroom table.
“While HR may not steer the organization, we can definitely make a difference in how we get to where we’re going,” she explains.
Starting at London InterCommunity Health Centre as a department of one, her current team of three has been recognized by HRPA for the impact they’ve had within a non-profit budget. Farrell tries to stay active in her community, recently serving on an HRPA committee and on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit dental clinic.
“I am not quiet about being a neurodiverse woman in leadership. I try to lead by example and am open about my own challenges and unique needs,” she says. “My neurodiversity has gifted me with the ability to retain large amounts of information and quickly find trends, patterns, and connections to aid decision-making. I use this superpower to harmonize legislation, policy, and creative, data-based strategies to improve the employee experience in any way we can.”

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
His experience isn’t limited to Canada. Ibrahim has worked in the US and UAE, which shaped his global perspective and comfort with adapting to different markets. He thrives on risk, viewing setbacks as stepping stones to progress.
“I’ve always believed that if you love what you do, you’ll never settle, and that attitude has guided every decision I’ve made,” he adds.
That outlook continues to guide his work and reflects his broader goal of helping move the industry forward. Through his brokerage, lending company, and legal services, Ibrahim is focused on creating long-term value for his clients, his teams, and others working in the field.
